Remissly referential

I’m gonna say, “I’ve been remiss” but this time it’s only been like two calendar days instead of, well, months or years. That takes some pretty-close-back-in-2019 reading to get, but here we are in 2023 and I don’t actually care if you get my weird self-referential, uh, references.

Combobox played a show last night and it was… good?

Even my dad said it was good and we were getting tight and the stops felt solid and everyone liked it. People were lit up talking to me after the show, I dunno, I think we’re a good band.

I’d like to figure out how to get to the next step, but I’m not really sure how to do that. Make friends with venues? Bigger bands? Surely we have to make a record at some point, and keep playing and schmoozing, etc. I dunno, it’s all a whole thing.

I said two calendar days earlier although it might have just been one? I’m really not sure because my sleep schedule has been so wonky lately that “calendar days” have started to lose meaning. You know how it is, maybe.

I’ve got some rest time coming up, which I’m very excited for, along with plans to watch the Ahsoka finale with Alex tomorrow, which I’m ultra excited for. Maybe I’ll do some more focused writing about that show, because not only have I though it’s good, it’s also really re-ignited my enjoyment for star wars lately, which is, if you know me, saying something.

I even rewatched the entirety of Rebels while I was catsitting a couple weeks ago, which has made watching Ahsoka so much more enjoyable. What a great pair of shows. Makes me wonder how Filoni got it so wrong with Boba Fett, tbh, although I know he was only marginally involved with that one.

But it was still really bad.

Anyway I’m really just posting this to post something, because that’s kind of what I’m trying to do right now. Thanks for bearing with me, maybe I’ll produce something of more value soon.
